I can't even feel disappointed about this watered down bill because I knew this was going to happen.
It's more than I'd expected after seeing the election results, but they managed to sell us on having compromises at 3.5 trillion, then multiple times on the way here so it still burns. More importantly, I'm concerned that it won't have much impact on the interim elections or could even be flipped and used against them. The overpromising leaves progressives pissed, the focus on price tag can be flipped to confuse casuals, and the fact that it dragged means they've gotta move quickly to make sure Americans feel the benefits of programs in time...so I have a feeling that we're still gonna end up with a negative partisanship focused election where it comes down to cancel culture wars and rhetoric vs threats of the return of trump.
Still winnable, but I think some of those cut programs woulda given them more to run-on.
