Democrats officially have an anchoring problem. No matter how progressive their policies end up, they are always eclipsed by what could've been and where they initially started. They need to figure out how to underpromise and overdeliver and not the other way around.
With that said, I'm happy that they are passing progressive policy that will make a difference to a lot of US families. It is frustrating that two Senators are holding everything up, but Murkowski/Collins/McCain did the same thing for Republicans and I was cheering them on as a Democrat (although I'd gladly see them lose office to a Democrat). C'est la vie. Obama has this saying about progress being a pendulum... although it isn't swinging as hard as we'd like in the progressive direction, it is moving towards more progressive policies that Republicans will have trouble eliminating without public blowback
