Well he definitely cooperated but with the shyt that he did, his cooperation should’ve simply spared him the death penalty. His sister is also a prosecutor… Something with that family isn’t right, La Barbie grew up in a middle class home and went on to be a major drug dealer that went to war with the Zetas in Mexico.

Not excusing it, but that dude was the top dog. La Barbie wasn’t. All of his bosses are long dead. But whatever intel he had was still significant enough to get him out of prison. Might be tied to the upcoming trial of genaro Garcia luna.
Also as to why he has that nickname…a lot of Mexican nicknames aren’t really glamorous and poke fun at ones features. Like el axil got his name because they said he was so dark he was blue, and of course El chapo because he was a manlet.
