Suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, who is facing sexual abuse charges, will arrive in Bengaluru on Friday (May 31) from Munich.
According to news agency PTI, sources in the Special Investigation Team said Prajwal Revanna has booked a ticket from Germany to return to Bengaluru. The investigation team will be in Kempegowda airport to arrest him as soon as he lands.
Two days ago, Prajwal Revanna released a video message in which he promised to appear before the SIT on May 31 and cooperate with the ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual abuse levelled against him.
"All I want to say is, without discussing much about right or wrong...you are a public representative, you must face it (probe) boldly. Several doubts have emerged in the last one-and-a-half years. Prajwal has to put an end to it and has to join the investigation. He has also agreed to appear before the Special Investigation Team. I welcome it," BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra had said, welcoming Prajwal Revanna's decision to come back to India and cooperate with the investigation.
According to sources, Prajwal Revanna has twice cancelled the flight ticket from Germany, where he fled after the news broke out that the Karnataka State Commission for Women urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to order a probe into the explicit videos showing several women being sexually assaulted allegedly by him.
Two held for circulating video clips of Prajwal Revanna
Meanwhile, the SIT probing the case, on Tuesday, arrested two people for allegedly circulating pen drives containing explicit videos of the alleged sexual abuse by Prajwal Revanna.
According to police sources, they were arrested when they came to the High Court in Bengaluru. The investigation team picked them up and took them for interrogation.
SIT moves HC Court against bail granted to HD Revanna
The SIT, probing the case, has also moved Karnataka High Court, challenging the bail given by a trial court to JD(S) MLA and Prajwal's father H.D. Revanna.
Revanna is accused of sexual harassment and kidnapping. He is currently out on bail.
Revanna, who was arrested by the investigation team on May 4 was in custody until May 8, and was granted bail by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. The court ordered Revanna to present a bail bond of Rs 5 lakh.
The SIT application against the bail is expected to be heard on Friday (May 31).

JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna, who is accused of sexually abusing some men and is out on bail, alleged that there was an attempt to defame his family and all those who are behind this conspiracy will be exposed in the next 15 to 20 days.
Claiming that members of his family did not do anything wrong, Suraj Revanna, brother of former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna who is facing charges of rape and sexual harassment of several women, said he is innocent and the truth will come out soon. All questions will be answered then, he said.
While interacting with reporters during his pilgrimage to Chamundi Hills, he said, "I would also like to tell you that the truth cannot be hidden for long. All those who have taken part in this conspiracy, they will come out (be exposed). Just wait for 15 to 20 days."
Suraj Revanna was arrested in the wake of a complaint by a JD(S) worker who claimed that the MLC sexually assaulted him. He was released on bail a few days ago.
Meanwhile, a court in Bengaluru had rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Prajwal Revanna who is currently lodged in Parappana Agrahara Jail in Bengaluru, in a second case of second sexual assault case registered against him. Four cases have been registered against him, all of which are being probed by the SIT.
The former MP was suspended from the JD(S) in the wake of the allegations against him that came out after pen drives containing sex videos of Prajwal Revanna were reportedly circulated in Hassan, ahead of Lok Sabha elections there on April 26.
