village india and city india are pretty different. Yeah there's classism.... How different is that from over here. It's like you're expecting people born in the hood/rednecks to be educated, well spoken, lacking prejudices. It's a third world fukking country. A large portion of it is still illiterate, starving, uneducated, and recovering from not only colonialism but brutal monarch rule that's lasted for centuries.. And you expect them to be progressive and 100% up on it? India didn't have the strict regimented brutal reform of communism like China did to help modernize and erase classist structures... They transitioned into a democracy that is not only relatively very young but also responsible for counterbalancing more traditions, religions, languages, climates, and issues than pretty much any country in the world with a few exceptions. Yet India is still modernizing and producing great work in many fields despite those challenges.
As far as 3rd world countries go, India and former satellites (bangladesh, sri lanka, afghanistan, pakistan) have as many issues to deal with as many african or south american nations do.... it just doesn't seem that way. India is a wonderful country though. I don't have much connection to it besides genetics since my fam is all diaspora, but the time I visited it it was a stark contrast between the new and modern and ancient traditions spanning thousands of years. You're a muslim, so you should understand that ancient traditions sometimes come with negative and brutal behaviors and conventions....
