I'd heard of black children developing faster than their white counterparts too, just needed to track down a source though since I haven't read any studies on it. I found this if anyone's interested...

Comparison of Growth of Black and White Infants During Their First Two Years of Life

Anyone know why some scientists say blacks need to spend more time in the sun even though we have higher bone density than whites on average? The excuse is that melanin messes with vitamin-d production or something, which then messes with calcium levels in the body.

I think that's one of the only few legitimate points on that 'realhistory' website that got me curious about black biology being different.

Thoughts?

How does this information it effect you?

This was not the topic we were addressing. The point is you believed the info in the article was "misinformation". I replied by saying that most of the info in the article is already proven and accepted by people in academia.

How does this information effect individual blacks is anyone's guess.

:usure:You mustve missed the part about babies developing faster, the protection from uv radiation, fighting off signs of aging or what about the ability to absorb certain energy sources and converting them to reusable energy such as vitamin d. How about the advantages in physicality? :comeon:

If it doesn't effect the socioeconomic status of Black people, then it's meh to me. Who cares about protection from UV radiation?:mjlol:

i really do believe on a molecular level something as that exists.

WHAT IS P.T.S.S.?
P.T.S.S. is a theory that explains the etiology of many of the adaptive survival behaviors in African American communities throughout the United States and the Diaspora. It is a condition that exists as a consequence of multigenerational oppression of Africans and their descendants resulting from centuries of chattel slavery. A form of slavery which was predicated on the belief that African Americans were inherently/genetically inferior to whites. This was then followed by institutionalized racism which continues to perpetuate injury.

Thus, resulting in M.A.P.:

  • M: Multigenerational trauma together with continued oppression;
  • A: Absence of opportunity to heal or access the benefits available in the society; leads to
  • P: Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome.
Under such circumstances these are some of the predictable patterns of behavior that tend to occur:

KEY PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOR REFLECTIVE OF P.T.S.S.

Vacant Esteem
Insufficient development of what Dr. DeGruy refers to as primary esteem, along with feelings of hopelessness, depression and a general self destructive outlook.
Marked Propensity for Anger and Violence
Extreme feelings of suspicion perceived negative motivations of others. Violence against self, property and others, including the members of one’s own group, i.e. friends, relatives, or acquaintances.
Racist Socialization and (internalized racism)
Learned Helplessness, literacy deprivation, distorted self-concept, antipathy or aversion for the following:

  • The members of ones own identified cultural/ethnic group,
  • The mores and customs associated ones own identified cultural/ethnic heritage,
  • The physical characteristics of ones own identified cultural/ethnic group.

Doctors say this too.

We are ppl of the sun. Our skin tone attests to that as does our hair texture and other things. So yes, it's good for us to be exposed to the sun b/c it's what "built" us so to speak.

Just my guess

:what:So just so I understand YOU ask the question what are the real world advantages of black genetics and when they are pointed out, this is your response?
:yeshrug:just bleach your skin then if you want skin with benefits of socioeconomic advantages.

And who cares about protection from uv radiation... how about the scores of people that are affected by skin cancer :why:

Viewpoints like yours shows just how much white people fukked our heads up. I mean melanin per gram is worth more than silver and gold yet here I am online arguing with a supposed black man saying it's worthless :dwillhuh:

It's meh, breh.

It's nowhere near as important as you think it is. We live shorter lives, and are on the lower end of the socioeconomic ladder. I'm sure we both want to see that change, but this "genetically stronger" gobbledygook isn't going to do it. So what I can sit out in the sun a little longer? Blacks still need suntan lotion! :heh:

I take no comfort in this "news" unless it's changing our lifespan, health, or helping us climb that ladder.

Ok so you don't care about black genetics. Why don't you go make a thread about how black people can improve our socioeconomic status and I would gladly contribute. That's more constructive than posting in here how much you DON'T care about this particular thread topic that many here find fascinating and want to discuss. Cool?
