We got 2 kids. I just wanna make sure if we file jointly this year, they don’t try and go back and audit us for the last decade.

Edit : it doesn’t benefit us anymore to file separate because no one qualifies for eic anymore.

I e-filed already and didnt expect to get accepted until the 27th but the IRS emailed me saying they accepted it. Refund should be here in 2 weeks.

i normally try and wait until early March to do mine. I hate feeling pressed to run out and file cause folks start running around with their refunds.

I've honestly considered finding a jumpoff with a bunch of kids to buy me stuff with their EIC $$, but it doesn't seem like it's worth the headache.

That’s not going to show up on their radar for an audit. You would only get in trouble if filing head of household and you don’t claim a kid or someone else already claimed that kid

Yes

Especially if you claim EIC or that Child Credit.
