He most likely will.

This agreement signing happened in Barbados as Norway has been convening Maduro's representatives and the opposition. U.S. officials were also in Barbados for the signing. But the agreement doesn't have a mechanism for reversing bans on political candidates.

The opposition seems to be unified behind Maria Machado but she has been banned by the Venezuelan courts, stuffed with Chavismo allies, from running. So...

Also, U.S. officials have been talking to the Venezuelans in Qatar about allowing more foreign oil companies to come in so Venezuela can finance debt repayments if Maduro continues talks with the opposition.

Why would the u.s put in writing on reverse on political candidates? You should know the consequences if Madoro breaks the agreement

Maduro will win the 2024 election and then go back to the negotiating table if Biden is POTUS

If Trump comes back in, then the same stuff from 2019 will happen again

Venezuela is the classic petrostate. Refused to diversify it's economy, and corrupt as fuk so they become reliant on foreign expertise/capital to manage their only valuable asset. Chavez also fukkd his own country by replacing tens of thousands of experienced oil industry workers with his political supporters and not setting aside oil profits to maintain the industry.

The trump era sanctions were the final nail in the coffin. If Maduro was smart he would've approached the US as soon as Biden was elected, but authoritarians will always prioritize their own ego.

I think being so "anti-imperialism" vis-à-vis being anti-American that they nerfed themselves into communism only to realize that shyt sucks even more and now have to come hat-in-hand to the regional big dog.

shyt is wild.

Even Argentina wants to dollarize now. Just INSANE turn of events.

Biden continues to be the luckiest man alive.
