If you think like that, why did the machines just put all the humans into a coma and not even have the virtual world?

They actually explained that. They wanted the human brains engaged and active so the body stayed alive longer.

As far as the phone question, there would still be ways to get into/out of the Matrix. They just used modern times and the phone jack in the movie because it's a part of pop/internet culture.

Didn't just create a virtual reality world where phones and computers don't exist yet. Instead of it being 1999 why not 1599. Problem solved right? I guess AI does not include common sense.

won't matter humans will still find out the world is fake. They just would have found another way to get out of the matrix. The phone was just an avatar for whatever it is that helps them get across between the real world and the fake. Plus I am pretty sure the programs from the first matrix was sabotaging the newer versions.

maybe they did though, i mean the "real world/future" was just another matrix right? thats why neo still had super powers outside of the matrix. maybe the next level outside of the "real world" is old timey as a fail safe incase people get out of the "real world"

I always thought this too.

The first time I saw the Matrix in 99, I was :mindblown:

Higschsool was buzzing with "did you see how Neo and Trinity murked those guards in the lobby with the ammunition parade." And how Neo was on the slow-motion effect steez throughout the fiick.

But, be honest how many viewings did it take you to fully comprehend "The Matrix."

Those were Good Times. :jawalrus:

no it wasn't the real world was the real world, Neo was just the first "One" that didn't take the "destroy Zion to save humans", so the had no idea he would manifest powers outside the Matrix.

Remember there were 7 previous matrixes and each "One" chose to let the machines destroy Zion in order to preserve human kind. Neo went and saved the puss, then got powers, then save Zion and humanity.

you got to remember, that whole shyt was just a game. the reason that shyt was allowed was because the game was designed and had to play out that way. that was the only way you were going to have people resisting the machines. if they couldn't get out of the "matrix", there'd be no game to play...
