It aint about being mvp level. Any team u add a borderline all-star to is going to be better. We are missing 20 and 10 breh, not 10 and 5.

I think some of us, including me, thought we gon be okay for these 25 games because we underestimated the steep learning curve for the rooks and overestimated the vets who arent playing as well as they did last year(Len in particular).

This has been an ugly stretch but john collins was the other half of a dynamic duo. Parker flashes sometimes but he is horrendous on defense.

He still on my shyt list for this suspension, but I'm not gonna act like this guy wasnt on the verge of an all star bid. 5 games left until he's back, hopefully we can steal 1 or 2.:hubie:
Len been playing pretty well since November. Last month, he won 6th man of the month by the NBA. He had 15 in the 1st half tonight. The issue with Len is he not good on offense at anything. I don't even think he is decent at anything. At best, maybe average in a couple of areas. Defensively, he is pretty good. Our best defender on the team.

The issue is like everyone keeps saying. Starting center and backup PG. Especially starting center. John wasn't looking that great on offense this year outside of the SAS game. While he is critical to add, he is not fixing this mess. This mess was traded when Travis traded all of our vet wings for washed scrubs and unproven rookies. Those rookies are exceptionally talented but they are rookies. They will have growing pains.

This team clearly missing John and he will fix 50% of our defensive issues and 25% of our offensive ones but as long as Jones is our starting center, I don't expect too much.

He’s a subpar coach. In game adjustments, situational coaching, substitutions are all trash under LP. He puts lineups out there that couldn’t score in a LA Fitness gym let alone in the NBA. As much as we wanted to make the playoffs and grow we really gotta step back and evaluate every part of this operation including Coach Pierce. With all due respect as a Coach he ain’t it
I felt he was one of the best up and coming coaches by the end of last year. I will give him more time, this team and roster construction is so ass. Other than the Miami game, I really haven't had an issue with him.

I don’t wanna pick at Coach Pierce too bad, like you said he doesn’t have much to work with even at full strength. But just watch his substitutions, in game strategy shyt even preparedness. This team doesn’t look prepared to compete most nights and they play no defense. I’m not ready to write him off but he’s been bad this year IMO

It’s funny that Bembry is NOW in the doghouse (he was one of the last subs in last night) for all of y’all sayin he’s Bazemore 2.0 is 100% accurate. Just consistently makes poor decisions with the ball in his hands yet Coach Pierce has pretty much allowed him to be a secondary creator after Trae and Huerter

I mean I know it was a small sample size but he didn’t have an All Star kinda start to the season. He’ll definitely help no doubt but I didn’t and still don’t think we have a roster capable of competing for anything significant this season. That’s on Schlenk who’s lookin a bit funny in the light too

Hawks are 2-15 in the last 17 games and if the reports about the Hawks trying to get some more help are true, paints him in an even worse light. You can’t tell me that as the GM that you looked at this roster and thought this team had playoff chances even if everything broke right

So Trae getting restless and essentially forcing your GM’s hand to trade youth/picks for a veteran to bizarrely enter Win Now Mode?

Hustling backwards, imo. Just continue to suck and take your lumps. Get a high draft pick. Add another talented prospect. THEN you start to add a veteran or two and enter Win Now Mode starting next year.

Worse thing you can do right now is trade assets and pieces of your young core to get a vet or two. Trae needs to calm down and trust the process.

Winning 42 games and squeaking into the playoffs does nothing for you, imo.

losing John hurt BADLY. Didnt' expect it to be this bad, but the set are buns defensively and esp in the interior.

100% this. I’ve been saying since the offseason and the start of the year that this was going to be a development year and we’d be between 30-35 wins. If that report about Trae being mad are true then someone needs to sit him down and explain how this works, bad teams don’t typically turn good overnight especially with how Schlenk approaches free agency.

Because of how this year has played out I’m pushing the playoff talk back another year, this year is a clear step back for the organization

It definitely hurt, but there’s no depth on this team. You got cats thinkin Huerter is our third best player...on what playoff team is Kevin Huerter the third best player? :mjlol: :dwillhuh:

I think JC’s ceiling might be 20/10 and he expands and improves other aspects of his game. Defensively is where this team has really fallen apart tho, they’ve gotten worse in every aspect, ball pressure, defense in the paint, defensive rebounding, awareness, etc. it’s strange b/c Coach Pierce said he didn’t install the defense last yr b/c we were so young. I’m guessing that’s the reason this year too SMH

Atleast last years team was fun to watch idk wat to say bout this year’s team

they have regressed..didnt think that was possible

I know we lost Collins for a good bit, but got damn.

they better be careful..all that momentum they had last season getting folks excited to watch them and calling them the future of the city is starting to slip away

I wanna see them with Collins cuz last year when he came back from injury and we played through him, we started playing well.
