They wasn't extorting Pac at the time.Pac might've been a lil too confident in thinking niccaz loved him for "representing the struggle".

Pac really thought he was outside of the box.

Breh, it's all about your level of protection.

Yeah, rock acts are pretty safe now because their culture has grown to such a corporate level that no street cacs is getting money there anymore.

Too many ex-Special Forces security guards and high powered lawyers to risk it.

But please believe, back in the 60's and 70's, during rock's heyday, them motorcycle gang and mafia nikkas was all up in them pockets.

Hip Hop has not reached that level.

There's a handful of artists that can exist without having to deal with the street element much, but for the everyday rapper, in order for you to safely perform in them clubs and move around safely, you have to be connected with a wolf that's able to keep the other wolves at bay.

It's a win/win really, if done right.

The rapper gains protection from other crews, the ability to affiliate with nikkas that would never associate with them before rap, and they get a level of street respect they'd never get off the strength of their own name/actions.

The street nikkas get money and access to levels of society they'd never see otherwise.
