In all seriousness, at what point do we start saying Alchemist is the greatest producer ever?

He is at least top 3 for me with Havoc and Just Blaze. But he cranked it up something serious in the last 5 years.

Classic singles...check
Classic albums/tapes ...check
Variety of collabs...check

My nikka has worked in three different decades with people across the map. And this is with relevant rappers, not some obscure dudes that nobody has heard of. Only legend he hasnt worked with is Jay-Z. Only top tier rapper now he hasnt worked with is Wale. People seek to work with Alc.

Not many people have such a large, diverse body of work as alchemist.

From the soulful introspective tracks, to the I'm gonna punch a nikka eye out tracks to the random bangers he can make it all out. Alchemist mayve just passed Havoc. BREAK THE BANK ON REPEAT.

it crossed my mind, he entered into my top 3 many years ago along with RZA and Premier

RZA's spot is concrete to me, no one is ever going to produce that many classic albums again. he formed my fav group, so ill always have him tops sentimental or not

Premier...hes 3 now. his prime run in the mid-to-late 90's is probably better than any span of Al's career, but Al's body of work is now more impressive. Premier stopped evolving about 10 years into his career, Moment of Truth was his masterpiece and he got very comfy. Al is 17 years deep and still tries new things

I'm real finicky when it comes to the top 5 man. At any given point my #s 2-6 can change between Just Blaze, RZA, Kanye and Dr. Dre and Alchemist. Havoc's position is solidified as a personal fave even if he might not deserve it. That 3 album mobb deep run is just too special for me.

Alc is the king of fundamentals imo.. He's produced some of the illest singles, consistent throughout his career, maybe THE MOST VERSATILE overall..
He's helped keep hip hop interesting since the 00s, but he hasnt really changed it.

I was on the verge of making this thread, but then I actually gave it some thought.

First let me say off top ALC has a tremendous "ear" for making soulful "hip hop" beats. He is clearly a cat that went through Ultimate Beats and Breaks 101 boot camp and he carries on tradition so to speak when he makes beats no matter what style he uses he always includes that one sample, that ONE BREAK that makes Hip Hop heads that know their shyt go :mindblown:

Not only that but his shyt has that groove element the swing patterns, kicks, snares be on some :lawd:
:whoa: With the greatest talk tho cause we have to qualify being a "producer" vs being a "beat maker". So when we talk about "producing" that encompasses more than making some hot shyt on a Hip Hop level because truthfully an argument could be made that cats like Ced Gee and 45 King blowing his shyt out the water when it comes to that but you don't hear me tho :youngsabo:
