That's why I respect Che some. Dude was born to a silver spoon, going to be a Dentist. Born lily-white in Argentina and could of lived a great "normal" life. He left all of it behind after seeing the treatment of the poor during a trip. Dude led a revolution throughout the Americas and was about to start in Africa.

Don't get it twisted though. Dude was a monster. He left behind corrupt and evil governments that in some cases turned out to be worse.

But I respect him in some ways.

well dictator isnt a strict term, cuz you have psychotic dictators a la saddam and then you have more benevolent ones a la tito

tito wasnt all that benevolent. he murdered off the chetniks and killed draza mihailovic, a hero that saved many Americans who were stranded in the Alps, and initiated the battle against the mass murdering ustase...because he wasnt a communist :pacspit:

he also murdered 270 something priests, though for arguably a good reason.

For real though, Plato was right. You present that question to anyone and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who would choose otherwise.

of course he was...but it wasnt a practical framework whatsoever. it was based on 'noble' lies, relied on luck for such a person to emerge, and had no legitimate way of continuing the regime once that philosopher king ceased to have power. sure he had the guardian class to teach and create leaders, but i dont think it would have worked out. with such rigidity in the classes, there would be many struggles in every transitional period.
