In 2011 when hip hop culture finally fully embraced the edm/dance scene was literally the GOAT year to go to a club/party/bar etc.

Then they would squeeze these 2 in..which aren’t hip hop..but we were so caught up in the moment of where our culture took us we still knew all the words

Then we’d go back to hip hop with the edm style influence to close out the night ..screaming all these lyrics with all our heart

2011 was a vibe for the party scene :wow:

Classic year

It started with Akon and David Guetta

I know it’s not hiphop but this song

:wow:

shyt was mind bending. I was gone all 2010. My only real source of music was an iPod with a few albums on it, I think it was Erykah Badu’s “Nu-America pt. 2”, Reflection Eternal’s “Revolutions Per Minute”, and a bootleg copy of Drakes “So Far Gone”.

I got back in Feb of 2011 to a completely different world lol. Jeans were tight but it wasn’t only the Jerk brehs, nikkas was playing “Techno” style music and Lady Gaga like it was nothing lol. I stayed in contact with home while I in Afghanistan but I kind of understood how nights feel when they get home after 10 years in County or some shyt lol.

I was okay with some of the music but that shyt got on my nerves after a while. It felt like being stuck in a Claire’s or forever 21 no matter where you went smh
