I say it in every Technique thread....

His interviews are way more entertaining than the music he puts out. I wish he would create a blog or a podcast speaking on current events bc he has an interesting perspective on life but not many people are looking to hear his thoughts over beats.

Much respect to him tho

my feelings exactly.

:what: How many people do you know off the internet that actually knows who he is, let alone able to name his records?

He doesnt sell albums, has no distinguishable singles, and is only ever mentioned on forums and blogs when he is being interviewed or someone mentions Dance With The Devil in a "best storytelling" thread.

How does that make him RELEVANT in 2012?

He's an underground rapper wtf do you expect? He's relevant to his core fanbase in the underground and that's all that matters for a rapper like him.

He still on low level us politics for the most part. Like lupe and Lamar said the president is a puppet and irrelevant. Yet tech keeps talking about him and the us government like they are the power in the world. He's a shill like alex jones, don't trust him. He's smart but not intelligent and his opinions on politics and religion aren't any more important than anyone else's. I feel he's turned being a revolutionary into his marketing gimmick just as French Montana has used yayo as his. Just a rapper at the end of the day.

Explain the difference between smart and intelligent.

that is such a pseudo intellectual stance though, ha. ask any typical, quasi-political minded small brain who doesn't know anything about anything about the president and i guarantee they would say "he's just a puppet, he's just being controlled by the powers that be". and i'm not saying that's incorrect, but to just say that and then support it with a lazy, nebulous, terse explanation is wild suspect. at least Tech goes into extensive detail about how he drew his conclusions and why he believes what he believes. when someone does that, when they can really speak on their convictions, THAT is an intelligent, informed person, whether you agree or not with them.. just saying "the president is a puppet" is too lazy..

Which is why I said he needs to create a blog or podcast to share his views because that core fanbase you're speaking of only represents a small niche in an even smaller subculture within hip-hop....

If he created a Hip-Hop State of the Union where he spoke on issues I believe more people would show interest which is evident by threads like these...his interviews always gets views.

....his music threads.....:ld:

Explain the difference between smart and intelligent.
To me smart is knowing and being able to repeat facts such as dates and times of events. Intelligent is; here is a puzzle, let me see you put it together or let's see how quickly you can get out of this maze. We are all taught how to memorize data in the public school system but that's not a sign of intelligence considering we graduate without even knowing how to balance a check book. That's why GW is considered smart because he can deliver a speech well that he's memorized but once the script is removed from in front of him he's a babbling idiot.

that is such a pseudo intellectual stance though, ha. ask any typical, quasi-political minded small brain who doesn't know anything about anything about the president and i guarantee they would say "he's just a puppet, he's just being controlled by the powers that be". and i'm not saying that's incorrect, but to just say that and then support it with a lazy, nebulous, terse explanation is wild suspect. at least Tech goes into extensive detail about how he drew his conclusions and why he believes what he believes. when someone does that, when they can really speak on their convictions, THAT is an intelligent, informed person, whether you agree or not with them.. just saying "the president is a puppet" is too lazy..

No, any AMERICAN at this point should know that the president is a puppet. There is no need for an explanation beyond that. If you want one all you need to do understand that we are a global community locked into global agreements with most every nation (UN, EU, NAU). One man, the president can't over ride those binding agreements. That must mean that the power is out of his hands and if it's out of his hands then it must be in someone else's. Can the president get rid of the Federal Reserve? NO! JFK did and got smoked shortly thereafter. LBJ's first thing once sworn into office was to sign an executive order to re-establish it.

No need to write a book on that subject as a basic knowledge of the system reveals that the president is a puppet with no real power.

People like tech who discuss politics from a basic fox news standpoint with the underlying stance that the president does have power is either a misinformed person or person who wants to continue the matrix like illusion that our country presents to us. Tech does discuss rep vs. dem bs and the like so I don't listen to him. I don't want to hear about his views from the standpoint he takes. I'm far more knowledgeable about the way all of this works to fall for for it. I can watch Bill Maher for that sort of discussion. I like people like Lamar that knows all of this is bs and won't even entertain the discussion in the first place. I'm not a fan of his for the record. But I was a fan of Tech's battles and first two albums. I've just come to the conclusion that he's on some communist bs, he's apart of the system and all of this revolutionary talk is his bread and butter. I wouldn't be surprised if Tech is millionaire.

Too many of you rely on rappers to be your revolutionaries/political figures and the labels understand that and have given them to you. You love rappers with unpopular political views that you share, you follow them as your leaders and talk about putting them into office. Meanwhile they are laughing all of the way to the bank as they crank out ENTERTAINMENT that they themselves don't even live by. Example: Nas is worth 40 million dollars, co-signed a Becky calling two brothers the word nikka and raps about genocide. Mos Def, movie star, ex-wife a peurto rican stripper, very wealthy man. But to his fans he's mr. fight the power #1! Yet someone will reply to this post and swear he is really a revolutionary who loves his people. That's how powerful all of that pseudo revolutionary talk is.

At one point Immortal Technique was all I played. I had that Revolutionary series on repeat. Not for his politics, but for the fact that when he initially dropped, that was some of the dopest, angriest, most arrogant sounding Hip Hop I ever heard and the fact is, we need nikkas like that in the game.

Lotta peeps call his shyt wack but I'm convinced nikkas that do that never had a real fight in their lives.
