damn we been feasting heavy this year brehs, last months i aint even have time to wipe my mouth before the next course.. plus we got that wu block droppin, AND that Tony Starks joint before the year is up! All this plus the birth of the Coli, Ima have to say its been a good year

Why come through just to bomb on al, like in the last thread? This is the deal, people like Bronson, whether or not you do. He sells out every show and doesn't have an album in a store.

Even besides that fact, Alchemist has done what most producers would like to get to. He's beyond comfortable with money, and he's spending time making the type of music he wants to make at home, in his house in California, with his friends. The fact that lots of people enjoy it is just icing on the cake.

it doesn't matter if you like Bronson or other new cats or not. New people are coming up, and there's nothing to do about it. Instead of fighting it, why not help mentor the new jacks? If you want to listen to Al work with vets like Styles, Rae, Nas, etc, go for it. But why hate on the fact that he's spending time with new cats like Bronson, Gibbs, Currensy, Roc Marciano (I know he's not "new"), etc?

Russian Roulette was probably his most intuitive project this year, that was retail

i like Action, hes not a guy id listen to for a 50 min album, but im sure there will be some entertaining tracks. hes funny and has improved a little since his first came on the scene

I actually heard that they shopped it around, and that's what the delay was. I heard another rumor that Bronson's label did not want the first project he sold to be a project with one producer doing all the beats. That could definitely be false though. It's good promotion for them, in fact, I'd argue that Covert Coup re-energized Alchemist fans and introduced him to an entirely new fan-base. I think it was worth it for him to put that out for free.

I'm actually a bit tired of the drumless loops, and want more of the heavy drums chopped out ALC joints. But Yacht Rock was fukking smooth, I agree entirely man. But I've heard a few of the beats for Rare Chandeliers and the few I've heard all banged. The Symbol is actually my least favorite of the few I heard.

Word. I'm just glad Alc to hear doing some more smooth shyt again. Haven't really been feeling the more eccentric/hardcore stuff he's been putting out as of late (Russian Roulette, No Idols etc). It's just not my cup of tea. I've always said that Alchemist is one of the best ever when he's on that smooth/soulfull tip.

But yeah I agree, I miss that "heavy drums chopped out" style he used to be on...tracks like "letyourselfgo", "surgical gloves", "red carpet", "the far left", "spit it clearly" () etc. Those are the tracks that originally made me to him. Hopefully we can hear him go back to that style on Rare Chandeliers. Either way, my expectations are pretty high for this album!
