Jordan is almost universally acknowledged as the GOAT because he was the first at just about everything that is popular today, while playing in 2 eras that maximized his offensive potential and defensive potential. Kobe would have an extremely similar career if you dropped him in, in place of Jordan, I feel (assuming that his skillset, and playstyle stays the same, of course.)

Edit: Jordan is also cool as fukk to watch. To this day, he's the only reason why I wear gold chains. I just wanted to be like Mike.
