The irony of this post is that you're trying to create a "fake deep" narrative out of thin air to diss the line

Ironically, it's not THAT deep, it's actually a straightforward line. He's basically saying "Instead of drinking the pain away and feeling sorry for myself. I can buy a lotto ticket". "Lotto" being a euphemism for positive thinking which can lead to making more money in the future
I understand the line.
Its just stupid. like you.
Buying a lotto ticket is just as opprressive to poor people as the bottle.
but that went over your head.
Cause you like that fake deep shyt.

This post actually says more about ur lack of comprehension than it does the line in itself. It’s literally explaining instead of feeling sorry for urself and drinking away the pain u can think in a more positive light and have hope for the future.
Nothing positive about wasting your money gamblig with the government.
Shows that you and nas are both dumb and dont really think shyt through.

Tell that to the people who won the lotto. As slim as the odds were.

A pair of 10/10 verses :ehh:

AZ had the energy and quotables and Nas had a laid back effortless verse full of gems.

Got to give AZ the tiebreaker off the hook though, it's one of the all timers.

I woke up early on my born day, I'm twenty, it's a blessing
The essence of adolescence leaves my body, now I'm fresh and
My physical frame is celebrated cause I made it
One quarter through life some Godly-like thing created
Got rhymes three hundred sixty five days annual plus some
Load up the mic and bust one, cuss while I puffs from
My skull cause it's pain in my brain, vein, money maintain
Don't go against the grain, simple and plain
When I was young, at this I used to do my thing hard
Robbing foreigners, take their wallets, their jewels
And rip their green cards
Dipped to the projects flashing my quick cash and
Got my first piece of ass smoking blunts with hash
Now it's all about cash in abundance
nikkas I used to run with is rich or doing years in the hundreds
I switched my motto; instead of saying "fukk tomorrow"
That buck that bought a bottle could've struck the lotto
Once I stood on the block, loose cracks produce stacks
I cooked up and cut small pieces to get my loot back
Time is Illmatic, keep static like wool fabric
Pack a 4-matic that crack your whole cabbage

nikka WHAT???? That verse is insane.
AZ was very good but Nas was rhymin gin another plan of existence for the whole album.

Az’s mic presence is far superior and delivery and flow. I like his verse more but there’s no clear winner it’s close but I can see the argument for both sides but I’m sticking w AZ just because he checks out more boxes than nas’ verse. He just had better lyrics

Nggas mad bc AZ is benefitting from the same shyt Nas usually does :umad: being the ‘underdog’.

Yea Nas had a stellar verse on this…just like Jay had a stellar verse on renegade

Yall can’t have it both ways. Nas got bodied on his own shyt :unimpressed:

How in the hell did Nas get "bodied" on his own track when he has the most quotable bar on the song and matched AZ flow wise/arguably was better lyrically :mjlol:

Kool G Rap has been in my Top 3 Greatest Rapper of all time list the past 10-15 years

I'd argue he has had a greater impact on the 90s Rappers than Rakim did. Kool G Rap literally birthed so many rappers in terms of style, rhyme patterns, subject matter, etc

Disagree on this part, but I understand
