I was listening to that Mercy single and Big Sean's verse is just insulting

so I guess at some point it's not about positive vs negative just about whether you can hold my mental attention

a positive message in music is seriously over valued, in damn near every genre.

the sole purpose should be to make good music first, wether or not your shyt has a message should be secondary always.


if your shyt aint postive , that shyt is and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

This is true as much flack as ppl give alot of rappers for talking about gunplay and drug dealing I dont think anbody has ever talked about BIG in that regard, I dont recall him having any songs with a "positive" message at least Pac had Brenda had a baby and dear momma

nobody talks about Gimmie The Loot or I got a story to tell in that regard.... all we care about is how dope the story telling was and well the concept was done.


at the end of the day, it's all about how well you can rap....and how good the music is.
