Everyshow you mentioned had down seasons, except bb...the wire had 2 of 5 seasons that were hardly watchable to me. Sopranos was meh towards the end. And even tho I love mad men, its not GOAT status....

for me I thought season 5 was must see right up until the end...esp after the end of 5a....the first season was hit or miss with people, I thought it was good, and got better with each season, until gus died. Yeah, season 5 wasnt as good, but I thought it was still a good final season. It really did miss having a gus/tuco, but that jail scene itself was one of my favorite scenes the show had.

At the amount of people in this thread who still haven't seen "The Shield".
It's a show that gets better & better as each season goes on. I don't think I've ever watched another TV Show with as many seasons do that for the ENTIRE SERIES. In fact, I think it's sorta slept on because the best seasons are the later seasons. They really build off the storylines from the earlier seasons.
