And not all of Cali is Blood and Crip territory when it comes to the inner cities. You literally could get kicked out of the Bay for claiming Blood or Crip. Because that's what happened to Messy Marv when he started claiming Blood out of the blue in the mid to late 2000's. The only reason Messy Marv was allowed back in the Bay is because he devolved into a broke homeless knock. 
If Mess try to slide through Frisco or Oakland and he was still healthy and had money and was still claiming Blood, he woulda been popped. Crips got ran outta Hunter's Point in SF in the early 80's and were only there for a few months at most.

LA (and Chi, but never been to Chi so just making an educated guess)....LA has a level of gangbanging that is unique in the United States. Other places can copy the steez but can't copy the atmosphere and legacy, and in my experience there's no way to really explain it to someone who hasn't spent time around LA Bloods and Crips. LA ain't the most dangerous city around, but the gang subculture is on a very unique level. It's a one of one...

I've spent too much time OT and had too many friends and associates, it's all gravy with me but for purposes of discussion, cats from OT should probably limit their discussion on what the culture is like at home...

I don't really care personally because 1) im not a blood or crip to begin with and 2) a number of these out of town sets were started by someone catching heat and having to bounce to another area.
Also, these gangs are making millions letting people pay their way in. I don't know why some people seem to think this is beneath them to make money when they are selling drugs, extorting businesses, shooting people, pimping out women, running scams on the elderly, robbing peoples homes, jacking cars, etc.
