Works the exact same as the ePSXe emulator for PC. You can even transfer saves between them.

Definitely worth it. DL it tho, don't pay for that shyt. Controls wise I use the Sixaxis controller app and play with my PS3 pad.

Try the Shin Megami Tensei games, those shyts age extremely well. Especially Persona 3 and 4, Nocturne and The Digital Devil Saga games.
