If it were a sub, its a sub in the same manner that both of them have been throwing subs at each other since the beef ended. Nas/Jay-Z are what we would consider "friendly Rivals". They have an infinite amount of respect for each other, pay each other homage, and chill on occasion. However, at the end of he day each of them really wants to go down as the best MC of all time and they throw competitive shots at each other to keep the other aware of that. Nas has admitted to throwing shots at Jay on records they've been on together (Success) and Jay has admitted that his only true competition is Nas and Eminem (read the XXL cover story that included the making of The Blueprint)
