Man, I just finished disc 1 that I emulated through Retroarch on PC. I'm trying to load disc 2 and this shyt won't work. I have all my isos with the same file name in order in the same folder and I created a .m3u file which has the .cue filenames in order saved.

I never used that method, epsxe just had a option to swap discs.

Renaming memory card file to match m3u file?
So the solution I've seen is to create a txt file, put the name of each disc in there with the .cue extension so that it matches the exact name of the actual file and save this txt file as a .m3u file which is a playlist file.I never used that method, epsxe just had a option to swap discs.

You then load that file into Retroarch which will now allow you to switch discs in the quick menu. The only thing is when you launch the .m3u file, Retroarch creates a new save file matching that .m3u file name which will then be empty.
The solution is to rename the new memory card save file created to the same name as your old memory card save but I've done that or I thought I did but it ain't working.

Lowkey tryna play this again lmao. The vibe and atmosphere is crazy. I think I’m going to hold off and wait a few months before Rebirth comes out and play this and Remake back to back.

Fixed the issue. I had to find the correct save file and rename it to the same name as my .M3U file for the save to be recognized. 
I believe disc 2 is the furthest I've got into this game even when I played it originally on different platforms since I was a child.
I want to finish this, then finish VIII for the first time and then IX which I barely ever played. FF is one of those series where I always say I love em but never finish any of their games('Cept Remake).

Some Thoughts:
I've been replaying 7 on my phone and noticed a few things.
Playing it in 2023 as opposed to 1997 a few observations I found funny.
Tifa telling Barret, "Don't be retarded", for wanting to shoot up the club at Shinra HQ instead of quietly infiltrating it.
Writers wrote Barret, the one black character, wanting to shoot up the club at Shinra HQ instead of quietly infiltrating it.
These I'm sure have been touched on:
1. Barrett is not only the one black playable character but the only black character period. I dont think I've seen one black NPC. Even in his hometown. That would also mean he would talk more Applachian, hillbilly heroin addicted Mountain Dee drinking sister fukking cac than Quentin Taratino's idea of how a black man should sound.
Oh and theres like that one random, black chick at Costa de Sol getting pimped out by Hojo.
Unless Rude is on some Andrew Tate shyt. Or maybe Ester. I don't know what her deal is.
2. That's better than how the Native Americans were treated inclusion wise.
Do Japanese schools teach only white washed history when they discuss the US or something?
They only got one character too and it was a big, talking cat on some Lion King shyt. And they're almost all dead. Red is the Last Mohican.
2. The Shinra Science Department gives no fukks about MeToo. No fukks about scientific ethics.. Gast sampled his sample with his samples. Knocked her up. And he's supposed to be the good one. Even Sephiroth said so.
Instead of artificial insemination or having Vincent be a sperm donor, Hojo decided to impregnate Lucrecia the old fashioned way. No science but the way God intended. I've seen converting lesbian porn with that kind of story arc.

Anyway, those mad scientists make nothing but power moves. I dont want even think about what Hojo may have done to Red in the name of science.

Good game, but top 5 overrated OAT. Not even the best Final Fantasy game.
