Man dont move out with only a stack in ya pocket. Go cop an ounce of coke and go post up in a high end night club bathroom. Don't step on it, just .8 it out, right out the pack. Do that 2 times while working and move out.

I was bout to say a g isn't enough but my first apartment was under $400 so you should be able to find a spot. It's first and last you know that, right? And if you have a roommate that'll be even less.

My best advice would be to live frugally. Take care of the basics, fukk the rest for now.

And if you're still looking, try to get a spot close to your job if you're not already doing that.

Being on your own is definitely a different and new experience. Congrats and good luck. :salute:

Go on...

I'm interested in going to Vegas to train boxing

plz......tell me more

well it ain't for everybody. it'll show you how strong you really are though to just up and move away .

i worked a shytty, slighty above minimum job for a pretty big company so fortunately i could transfer anywhere i wanted. i decided i wanted to go to vegas since i got into UNLV and i had a few friends that lived there. got on a plane in PA with 50 bucks, a suitcase and a bookbag and that was that. out.

there wasn't a big enough couch, so i slept on the floor mostly. there are plenty of employment agencies and shyt like that here too, if you're down to down anything for money. there are some other hustles you can use too that i just wasn't up on at the time so i just worked at crashed at first.

eventually, i was barely home, just stayed out meeting new people and learning my landscape. my job was giving me shyt for hours but i made money and found food on the side by doing an amateur improv show and eventually getting into comedy. gave it my all for awhile doing improv and people really liked me so they'd tip me, give me odd jobs, buy me beer and food. i was hella broke so i would bum a lot of rides or sneak onto buses. i might go to a bar just to hit it off with someone and then see if they'll give me a lift, whichever way. didn't matter. on to the next.

i struggled but after 2 months i had enough to get my own apt but my peoples were cool. the had a roommate leave, so i took that room and paid rent for another 4 then i got my own crib when their lease was up. there are no areas that are too bad here, just some with a bad rep. you can get an apt for 400 a month but more than likely it'll be around 5. i moved out on my own and been rolling like that for about 18 months now. i live the broke life but im independent and i can come and go as i please.

as far as my advice to nikkas about shyt i wish i knew when i got here...you could get a weekly apt/hotel room for about 200 if you know you're not going to be somewhere too long or move in with a family and do odd jobs for them. plus on craigslist, there are always people renting cheap rooms or looking for roomies. if you stay away from gambling here, you're pretty much straight but it is a hustling kinda place. you also might come up playing games if you're good but why risk it? i've lost a lot of money (to me) so i don't fukk with it too much anymore. you gotta stay up and always network. it's a cut-throat town so you just gotta watch your back. i got hella stories...haha...i should write a book...

i lost my job but i found some others and when i got laid off i was able to collect unemployment because i was working all the time.

i don't know if there's any actually advice in me saying all that and i'll expand more if ya want. the main thing is, you have to go for it. if you don't have kids or really any responsibility except to yourself...just go for it. that thing about 'you miss %100 of the shots you don't take is true'. there is no easy way. people talk shyt if you don't live in their level but keep in mind that you'll be on top in your own time and on your own terms. and be nice. karma is forreal brehs.

and @yo moms ...boxing is a pretty big thing here. fight clubs all over the city. you just gotta go hard man.

edit - @ChrisDorner this is how i did it, breh.

@LBJ

Yeah thinking about going to Vegas and just train full time for 2 months or as long as my visa allows me to stay for free. What would the cheapest way to do it?

hit up craigslist or look into renting a room/cheap apt. if you only gonna be here for 2 months, budget your expenses for your time here and just hold on to enough money to get here and back home while you visit. if you put an ad online that you're looking for a place, include why you're going to be here and you might find other fighters than need a roomie.

or get an online gf that stays here and crash with her. when she asks for the rent, just drop trousers and pay that.
