I recall a conversation with a deejay in the "A" and he said it's mostly due to Duct Tape's frustration with ATLANTIC RECORDS ceo Craig Kallman and the fact that the label hasn't been real supportive and that they were hoping T.I could somehow influence the label to do more on thier behalf considering they do have a distribution deal with Atlantic and mostly have to do all the legwork on thier own without any help from Kallman and company...........but in Atlantic Records defense....ALLEYBOY hasn't given them the "radio friendly" (HOE MUSIC) song that they are willing to greenlight (no pun intended)....most if not all of his music is mostly hard jackboy tracks and diss songs.....
it's kinda hard to market Alleyboy when his music isn't even club friendly....
so both the label and himself are at odds..he addressed that in this award show i had attended in J-Ville where he goes off on the label with Grand Hustle reps like Lil Duval present at the show:
