Considering there are literally billions of books out there, you’re going to have to tell us what are your interests are first.

What types of books do you like to read though bruh? Fiction? Non Fiction? Historical books? Biographies? Philosophical?

Looking at my bookshelf now, here’s a few I’d recommend:

Marcus Aurelius - Meditations
Adam Hochschild - King Leopold’s Ghost
Franz Kafka - The Trial
Richard Wright - Black Boy
Neil Postman - Amusing Ourselves to Death
Howard Zinn - A People’s History of the United States
Robert F. Williams - Negroes with Guns
Alan Moore - V For Vendetta & Watchmen

These are books I’d recommend to anyone that I thought were brilliant and informative. Nice mix of fiction and nonfiction to get you started.

From what you’ve seen posted so far, what’s piqued your interest and you plan on copping?

Books on self improvement, body language, being manipulative, etc?
shyt to help navigate better in this life

I have no preferences for

I just want something that helps me get the benefits of reading

I haven't read much recently

the alchemist a good starter book to get u back in the groove…i read that then lent it 2 my BM to read

I've never finished this book and it's no more than 200 pages if that. It's so boring. Everyone acted like it was so life changing. Admittedly, I've never finished, so I can't say for sure, but meh. I've tried to get through it multiple times.

I'm actually trying to read more too. I went to the library and picked up sin in the second city. Really interesting! It's about the vice district in 1900's Chicago. I also picked up a tanehisi coates book, and it was just exhausting. Put it down, and don't think I'll ever pick it back up. Just seems like a book written for white people to try and understand being black.

For nonfiction, I highly recommend Lawrence Otis Graham's Our Kind of People. Regardless of your race, getting an insight into that group of people may inspire you to get on, or stay on your grind.

Fiction really depends on your taste, but for a good classic, grab the abridged version of The Count of Monte Cristo. One of the most entertainingly-written plots ever put to paper.

I’m currently reading Master of the Senate by Robert Caro. It’s about Lyndon Johnson’s time in the senate from 1949 to 1960. He became the most powerful and youngest senate majority leader in history and passed the civil rights act.

Yeah, the Most Dangerous game is another classic banger that inspired hella stories like Hunger Games. Read that in 6th grade gifted class:wow:

But the Count of Monte Cristo has been my number one pick forever. Just skim some of the plot details and the history. Influential as hell.
