This gets at why Kofi's win hit me so hard. The New Day have gotten to this point by being unabashedly themselves. Yes, they goofy sometimes. The throw pancakes and have unicorns in their entrance video. Yet, they also wear kente to the ring, speak openly about their love of hip hop culture, and are just generally unapologetically "capital B" BLACK. They're three brothers who have gotten where they are while preaching a message of self-love, unity, hard work, and being who YOU are and forging YOUR path.
I've been watching wrestling since 3rd grade but Kofi's win was the first time it truly touched me. Like this reddit guy, I've also struggled with depression and suicide ideation. About 4 years ago, I almost went through with an attempt. I've says thought sayings like New Day's "power of positivity" were corny, but last night.....Last night was proof that maybe there's something to it after all.

Props to Kofi for finally getting that win. That's the only match on the card I watched live and it was worth every second. Damn good storytelling, match (a given with one of the GOATs on the other side of the ring) and perfect, clean finish. Most of all, I loved how his homies held him down all the way through it and were celebrating harder than him. Just a great moment all around
