wish I played guitar. I be looking for trombone or tuba gigs but all I can find is guitar gigs on Craigslist.

I can only imagine how hard it is to find gigs for tuba and trombone. You should take it up, shyt its obvious you already have musical knowledge and ability. You can already read music, and as a bassists it is alot easier to find a spot to play.
The good thing is there is alot of online material to get you started. I'm not expert at Bass (been playing 10 years), but I do have alot of material saved that I could always email.
Just volunteering nothing big yet. I did say that I wanted to run for State Rep in 2020 though
