Also there needs to be age appropriate discourse with children in schools and at homes to prepare them.
Guidance counselors at our school get parent permission and then give safety discussions in school.
We talk about biology, reproduction, hormones, natural sexual development, consent, and predators online.
Then we discuss age differences and consent. Kids are curious and want to know the same damn shyt I wanna know!
“Ms. Booksnrain, why can’t he find a girlfriend his age to play with?”
“Adults can be weird online.”
“Doesn’t he have his own older friends?”
We have to instill a culture of protection and empowerment in all vulnerable populations. Explicit direct instruction needs to be given to children.
“What do u say if a nasty man or woman wants pictures of you online?”
“You are weird! It’s gross for adults to want to be with children! I’m telling my mom and the police! Get help!”
Turn that shyt into a song. A hand game. Popularize it like baby shark. Kids can be obnoxious as hell once an idea takes root. Imagine every pervert getting roasted by kids online.
“Ewwww! Ur OLD! Why are u here?! Stop talking to me geezer! Ur lame! Why do you wanna kiss children?! Eeeewwwwwwwwwww!”
That’s the movement I want to see. It’s hard to restrict kids from online platforms but we can teach them what to be on the lookout for and help them understand how evil operates and what to do in the face of it.
Also open the lines of communication with ur children. A child should be able to talk to you about ANYTHING! A lot of parents make their children more receptive to strangers b/c they are too ashamed to discuss shyt with their kids.
