I'm 25 years old and live with my parents. That makes me a loser right?

I'm going to be turning 23 next month. I stay at my mom's. My feeling is that if you're trying to accomplish your goals, its okay if you're staying with your parents. I'm trying to get my masters degree right now and as part of that, I'll be interning at an organization. I'll probably choose to do a second practicum instead of a thesis as well. So I'm building work experience through my internships, and getting educated as well. When I move out I'll probably be 25 or 26, but I'll be more stable.

Living on your own allows you to channel your hustling spirit and allows you to be creative. When you're completely on your own you look at the world way differently.

Do you though, if your completely happy at home and don't feel like your missing out on anything then stay. People leave their small towns at 18 and move new york and LA alone everyday.

You guys can package it however you want, but being a man and living at home at 25 is NOT a good look and you should be spending every second figuring out how to be on your own.

I know times are hard but there's always a way. But I don't blame you, I blame your parents. Everytime a grown up is at home its because their parents make it a comfortable environment.

When I was 17 my mom was lookin at me like "You still here?" :usure:
shyt used to annoy me so much that I vowed to never come back. I love my mom for that because she never made me feel comfortable. Meanwhile, my sister on the other hand, is back and forth living at home. She will never develop independence because my mom has coddled and made excuses for her since birth.

Not necessarily. Depends on what you're doing with your life and to improve your situation.

Enlist. Hit the block. Go to school. Do something to progress your life. I lost years doing nothing, chasing hoes and partying. Everyday, do something, anything, to help you reach your goal.

Get out of the house. Go to Starbucks and do work or something when you apply to jobs.

Staying at home causes you to lose track of MAJOR time.

I'm quoting this again.

Its CRUCIAL that you get outdoors.

Even if you don't talk to anyone...just to see the world moving around you and getting some sunlight, hearing the radio, basically connecting with the outside WILL help you to reintegrate yourself into the process of getting things moving.

i bought a house with my moms at 19 and didnt move out til i was 26. Didnt have a reason to. I was working, just doing me, Met my wife, had a daughter, life changed and realized i had be on my own.
Some people move out sooner then others, the point is just getting out.

My plan was to move out when I was 25. I had $10K saved up but then I got laid off. Finally got a decent job at 27, saved up another $20K and finally moved out that year. I was paying my mom $400 in rent tho.

A lot of people had jokes about me staying at home until I was 27. Most of my friends where out of the house no later than 23. BUT 75% of them ended up coming back home. I saved up a ton of money, got ahead and it doesn't look like I'll ever have to move back home. *knocks on wood* If you have a plan and you are saving money, no, you are not a loser. Black people seem to be the only people out here that parents are on some "when you turn 18 you are out the house"/"you are too old to be at home past 21" shyt. It is a different world out here these days. The job market and the economy are shytty. Other races of people stay at home, save money and get ahead. It's about living below your means to advance financially in the long run.

I'm 23, I want to be out by 25/26. Am I financially stable enough to hold my own apartment down? Barely. I want to move out when I can really afford it and not worry about bills.
