Kyrie has a great SCORING game and you nikkas are quick to act like nothing else matters on the court....

Like maybe LeBron James....

Like maybe defense, or lack thereof in Kyrie's case...

Or passing...

Or general playmaking and leadership ability...

Kyrie's offensive abilities as a scorer has went up significantly this year. Coming off his poorest season where he didnt break a 20 PER, why do you think that has happened???

*thinks* *thinks* *thinks*

The the fact of the matter is Curry is playing at a overall level higher than Irving without the benefit of playing with LeBron James game in, game out.

This has got to be a joke thread. What Curry is doing is kinda unprecedented. Leads the team with the best record in the league in points, assists and steals. Nash on the Suns is the closest comparison in recent memory, but he was playing with better talent and he wasn't burdened with #1 option scoring duties.

Gotdamn... smarten the fukk up!! I know its the internet, but have some integrity.

Curry doesn't need Lj. He has a player like Klay who has nearly the same stats as Curry, shoots better from 3 than Curry, and is a much better defender than Curry. Curry is still trash on defense. All he does is roam around for steals because he's too lazy to stay in front of his man. Steals don't make you a defender. James Harden is 8th in steals (link). I'mma just leave that there.

The difference in the team is that Kerr runs a combo of the Triangle and what the Spurs run. Motion offenses like those are not just offensive systems. They're also systems that set up defensive scheming based on the position of the guards at the top of the key on both sides which allows for both guards to get back to help prevent fast breaks, and depending on the position of the passing post player, it allows for a big man to either trail or get back quickly to defend the post. They also help cover defensive deficiencies due to the positioning of the players. Do you really think that Steve Kerr, BJ Armstrong, Luc Longley, and Tony Kukoc, to name a few, were defensive beasts who could lock down the elite players at their positions? No. The system is covering Curry's terrible defense.

:childplease: Curry is on a stacked team with Klay who has nearly the same stats as Curry, shoots better from 3 than Curry, and is a much better defender than Curry. When has Kyrie had all that? Never. Lj didn't come back and save the Cavs. He is washed up and Kyrie has been the best player on that team ever since Lj's return. Before you bring up their record with Lj, I'll remind you that that Lj started the season playing like trash and blaming the team for their losses while he played. Lj came back because the rings dried up in Miami, and he saw a better opportunity with Kyrie and Love.

The CAVS would never let Irving go for Curry...irving is a coach k product, world's mvp, all star game mvp, best Handles in the game, finishes more consistently than anyone one in the game, and is lethal shooting from anywhere in the gym...Curry is dope but Irving when givin the green light is probably best in the league right now.

If Irving played for Steve Kerr and the "media loved west" opinions would be very different, but he plays on the "boring" east, with THE player most love to hate, the KANG...WHEN DID AMERICA START HATING GREATNESS ANYWAY?:what:
Breh, I'm with the biggest LeBron and Kyrie stans on thecoli but Curry is in the top five players in the league right now imo

Yea I agree Curry is top five...but so is Irving IMO...each team requires each player to produce differently...Curry would have to take a back seat if LEBRON were a Warrior...might be less entertaining but the fans would approve.

Top 5 right now IMO(in no specific order)

Curry
The Brow (Davis)
Irving
James
Westbrook

A lot of great players playing great right now, but none more dynamic than these...so in effect Curry and Irving are interchangeable:yeshrug:
