He's moving up to become an assistant coach, he was really only a player development coach in Toronto.

Unless CP3 becomes a huge pain in the ass, I see no reason why they don't just keep him until he's an expiring contract. CP3 + Adams + Gallinari + other parts isn't a good team but they shouldn't be horrible.

The deal always made sense from OKC's point of view because his contract ends 1 year before Russ'.

Reading this Athletic article, sounds like a lot of players that aren't worth max money dislike CP3.
