They had no plans of trading George.

They were thinking about moving Adams to get PG and Russ some shooting, which the fans were dreading since he's homegrown. They were trying to find a way to reduce or get out of the tax and still add pieces to run it back but here comes KL offering PG a plane ride home which was his original preference. They pulled the trigger so quick because they just saw how funky shyt can get with a disgruntled star with the AD ordeal.

shyt had nothing to do with not wanting to play with Russ and everything to do with OKC front office's cheap ass chickens coming home to roost.

Cheap owner. Presti probably didn't want to keep paying the luxury tax for a first round playoff exit, but would rather rebuild with draft picks/younger players.

He wanted out and they knew they had us by the ballscause we needed PG to get Kawhi and so they got a massive haul for him. They didn't want it to turn into an 'AD on the Pelicans' ordeal that would've put them at a disadvantage later down the line. Also it looks like they want to get away from Westbrook and his game and start over.

I just don’t get trading a top 3 MVP candidate you have locked up for drafts picks that you hope 1 of them eventually becomes PG when it’s more than likely none of the draft picks will ever be all stars


Getting under the tax is understandable. Trading your best player to get under the tax is not understandable

When his mediocre performance led to his team flaming out in the first round to a team they were favored against for the third year in a row

You can ridicule OKC for cheapness for trading Harden to keep Perk all you want, that's fair. But anyone with a functioning pair of eyes should've clearly see that PG13 and an aging Russ surrounded by the absurdly capped out mediocrity on that OKC squad wasn't going anywhere in this stacked Western conference, even with the Warriors out of commission for the time being. Not paying hundreds of millions in repeater tax for dudes who can't even get out of the first round isn't cheapness, it's common ass sense.

And I’m not sure what you’re telling this to me for, I’ve been criticizing Ainge’s drafting for years. My point was that draft was pure trash and that 1st round was filled with bums. It’s been 3 years and 2/3rds of that draft aren’t even with their original team anymore. Your beloved 76ers took Timothé Luwawu & Furkan Korkmaz over Siakam & Dejounte. shyt happens right?
