Knicks brehs how does Marcus Morris fit in you already have Robinson/Portis/Gibson/Randle and I would think you would prioritize Robinson and Randles development....

People don't seem to realize that the spurs made two moves to get Morris that they can't undo if he doesn't sign with them...

They had originally given Carroll most of the MLE...they then went and gave him a 3 year deal with I think 1.7 million guarenteed in the 3rd year so they could do a sign and trade and get the MLE. So Carrol gets at worst an extra 1.7 million and at best a 3rd year.

They traded Bertans to Washington for nothing so they would have enough money to give Carroll.

These two moves can't be undone. Carroll is signed and Bertans is traded.

If the spurs could just undo the Bertans trade and give Carroll the MLE instead of 3 years no harm no foul...

Like...this is the type of stuff that gets players fukked over in the next cba...

If the players and agents are smart they in Morris ear telling him he better sign with the Spurs cause this could fukk it up in the future FOR EVERYBODY...

You going to see owners push for shyt like shorter contracts and less money because "hey we can make roster moves we can't undo to sign a player that said he would sign and then he don't and now we high and dry we need to protect ourselves"...

honestly I agree he should stay with the Spurs...Also isn't that Knicks offer one of their 1+1 specials? where as the Spurs deal is 2 years? unless sense next years free agency is weak he's trying to get in on that. But to me the Knicks already have enough front court depth Spurs actually seem to have a use and a role for him.

The 2nd year is a player option on the Spurs deal, so he could be a FA anyway.

Im not sure of the dynamics but I think that money he makes may actually be closer...Also why didn't the Knicks go after him sooner? before they signed Gibson or Portis? They had him as an option after those guys I guess.

His Spurs offer is 1 + 1 to. The difference is what he makes in year 1. After you factory in new york tax rates and texas having no state income tax I don't even know how much more money he makes with what the knicks are offering...

At any rate I would be shocked if he takes that knicks deal. Everything on free agency is based on handshake and word until you can sign a contract. If he goes to the knicks the owners are going to be one step closer to turning nba contracts into nfl contracts...
