Yea if this was supposed to be set up in the film, it failed. Mainly because Elena is not really built up as a character in her own right.

when have bussas ever been setup as a character in anyone's life beyond the type of drama that played out in the movie.
ol girl was a bussa.
she never even called or made herself any type of priority in a day and time.
when females that got hit.
with sumfin to them would have attempted to be a fixture in that time.
all you know about ol girl is she did what a bussa did.
which is why it played out how it did.

She played herself and got got trying to finesse Caine out of some (more) bread.

She was nothing more than a stunt to him.

They should have done a better job letting us know. Had her crying and trying to keep quiet and all of that tells me she really was pregnant (by whom? Who knows based off Shareef telling Caine about her). If she was scheming we should have at least received a clue. Or had a better actress. Now that I think about it, how would her cousin Potna know she was pregnant if she was just scheming?

Especially when u factor in how she tried to stop Potna before he left to kill Caine

They did a terrible job portraying her as a chick who just saw Caine as an easy come up, I don’t even remember her asking for abortion money and we were supposed to just assume all of this?
