Ben is on the list breh he's number 17
They were/are still.
The list is based on some funky criteria anyway ( who looks best in spandex). But the big 5 X-characters (Logan, Cyke, Jean, Storm and Prof.) was a good nod
I'd argue with our generation though, Wolverine reigned over hulk. X Men had the highest selling books and a top rated cartoon
Breh have you been reading Daredevil over the past 2-3 years?
true. but i feel like wolverine wasn't a made man UNTIL the cartoon. up until that point wolverine was only poppin in the comics and in the arcades (which yea i admit in the 90's were both a huge deal)
but i feel i like i knew who the hulk was by the time i was like 3-4.
and even to this day he still feels like the bigger icon to me. "hulk angry, hulk smash".... all that shyt. more people identify with the hulk imo.
That cartoon was 92...The X books were popular before then and this is when comic books were selling stupid numbers. The hulk while we knew him, wasn't popping like that in the 90s on that mainstream level. His cartoon came on too but it wasn't that good lol. I've always seen Wolverine as the number 2 man. He and Spidey rule the roost at Marvel in terms of comic sales and merchandise
i understand... i'm not really fightin you on any of that.
but even still hulk is just on like a whole other plane of relevance. one that wolverine doesn't come close to. you can't measure it in comic sales.
that's why i'm sayin for hulk to be at number EIGHT.... is a lil surprising to me.
yo i try reading comics, i really do... but some of them i just can't follow. call me an idiot or whatever... but it's like the way they're structured or some shyt... like i don't know which panels i'm supposed to be lookin at or when i'm supposed to be readin the dialogue bubbles. they just don't play that well to me.
last comic i read was killing joke and that was SEVERAL years ago... but for some reason i was actually able to follow that.
i feel you. even in terms of branding "THE INCREDIBLE HULK" is a stronger brand and even the FONT used for incredible hulk is iconic...i mean wolverine was introduced IN an incredible hulk book for a reason.i understand... i'm not really fightin you on any of that.
