BOTH these women are engaging in a petty online feud. Neither of them said anything substantial in the way of actually changing what's happening. Even if the curriculum changed, we educated ourselves on the religions of the Caribbean, we banned white people from rapping and singing, it doesn't stop trigger happy policemen from murdering unarmed Black men in America.

All this cultural appropriation and white privilege garbage is nothing more than politics and smoke screen. A lot of people who attempt to use that crap don't even know what they are talking about. If you want to talk about cultural appropriation, let's talk about the Chuck Berrys, Little Richards, and host of other Black artists who had their songs covered by White artists, but were never compensated or credited. Not only that, but Elvis lifted Jackie Wilson's whole look and style. Appropriation. People hear the White version of a Chuck Berry or Little Richard song and think the White artist was the original singer.

Rapping is a part of Hip Hop, but it's not a culture. Hip Hop isn't something you do, it's something you live. That's why Iggy can be classified as a rapper and still not be a part of the culture. She can get all the Grammys, MTV Awards, AMA's that they can give her, because guess what? The Grammys, MTV Awards, and AMA's don't dictate anything either because it's not a part of the culture. Hip Hop is a way of life that The Coli always seems to reduce to just rapping. White people can't take Hip Hop because Hip Hop isn't just music. They can't take rap either because it's roots are deeper than that especially when you have only one White rapper and one White group that made it past being novelty and a gimmick to being accepted. Besides Eminem and The Beastie Boys, there's really no one else White that made it to that level. Even still, there's people (both Black and White) that don't even consider either of them rappers or a part of Hip Hop.
