Can't say I'm surprised he said this. He lost a lot fans when he signed her. I still remember when he accused black people of being racist for not accepting her. Everything went downhill after that. She didn't have a bad career. She was successful and of course white fans loved her. But there was a lot of backlash for signing her and that is why he is saying that it tarnished his legacy.
