Kanye West's Yeezy Model Arrested for Using Dead Man's Debit Card
One of the main models for Kanye West‘s Yeezy Season 6, and a former star on “Bad Girls Club” was arrested on a slew of charges, including stealing the debit card of a man who had overdosed and using his identity to ring up thousands of dollars in purchases.
According to the U.S. Attorney, Shannade Clermont has been charged with wire fraud, access device fraud and aggravated identity theft.
Officials say Clermont stole the debit card information “of a man she had visited for a prostitution date and who was found dead in his apartment the next morning from a drug overdose.”
The man, who was not named, died due to an overdose of cocaine and fentanyl. Investigators collected his iPhone, wallet and a loose condom from his bed after he was discovered dead.
Investigators were told by a doorman that Clermont said her name was “Audrey,” and she was seen with the victim hours before he was discovered dead.
It’s unclear if Clermont knew the victim was dead before she allegedly took the credit card information.
According to text messages recovered by officials from the victim’s phone, Clermont had agreed to have a date with the man for $400.
U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said, “As alleged, Shannade Clermont, a former cast member of the “Bad Girls Club,” lived up to her reality series reputation. He continued, “Clermont’s new reality is federal prosecution for her alleged nefarious conduct.”
Clarmont and her twin sister, Shannon, were both featured models during Kanye’s Yeezy season 6 campaign, and part of the group dressed up in outfits to resemble Kim Kardashian. Kim, herself, even posted about them.
It’s unclear if Kim is going to rally to get her out from behind bars.
