In regards to the wife working: some of us were saying if she’s not doing housework, THEN she’s working and we split house duties. If she’s not working a job, then she takes care of house dutties.

Y’all just marry a woman and let her do nothing? She just stacks your money and chills out and as long as she touches your dikk everyday it’s cool? Seems so because a lot of men do both roles now because women can’t and guilted men into believing it’s the same as domestic abuse of a woman cleans or cooks. Also the word traditional has changed many times, and is different amongst different ethnicities. Minority women in the USA have always worked a job, running resteraunts and shops with or seperate from the husband. Some were strictly home makers. People have different traditions. At the very beginning of marriage, men got animals and land.. it was about property, inheritance and legitimacy. It was never one static meaning.

Anyways, today's marriages are failing because they are not up to date to the lifestyles of 2018. Marriage (and divorce) need to be updated. We should have different marriages you can sign up for like open marriage, 3 person marriage, starter marriage, etc. Kinda like the different types of businesses you can start (LLC, S-Corp, etc.)

Each marriage would have a different type of way they are taxed and dealt with and if kids are or become involved, there will be different ways to handle that.

Personally, I would make something like a starter marriage temporary and you would have to renew the contract or turn it into a life time marriage that has severe penalties if you choose to divorce later on.

If after say 4 years you no longer want to be with the person, you can leave with everything you earned during or brought into the starter marriage and nothing more. In this type of marriage, things bought like a home, car, etc. wouldn't be owned jointly so if the wife bought a home and they were living in it, it's only hers. If you divorce before the contract is up, the person who files must pay a penalty. Penalty is waived if you can prove your partner is abusive, cheated, etc.

Us normal people can come up with a lot of shyt that sounds good on paper and could actually work out.

But remember capitalism flourishes on exploitation.. these lawyers, “family mediators”, etc are making a killing off of destroying families.. too much money involved for them to do the right thing.. won’t change until the money dries up. We’d have to privatize marriage some how.. offset not getting a tax break with shyt.. assign each participant an “agent” like insurance etc.. you’d have to delegate all this shyt to a new area so people get paid.

You are mixing America's standard of a woman verse what actual tradition is. A traditional woman lives for her family, she doesn't have a job, doesn't do stuff for herself, her life revolves around her family. Looking good outside of the bedroom isn't the job of a traditional woman because she has a husband. Her husband expects her to keep covered up because her body is not hers anymore, it is theirs meaning both her and her husband. They are bound by fresh and the wife can not act alone she must consult with her husband for everything because in a traditional marriage the man is head of household.

Traditionally, "not having a job" still meant entire days of farm labour ( or any other food-gathering activity) in order to feed the family. No daycare, no maternity leave, nuthin.

The term "stay-at-home-mom" is a modern-day urban invention.
