If your child wanted to be an actor or rapper or singer, would you let them?

Tough question :ohhh:

Let's say they were like about to finish high school and wanted to skip college to pursue a career in LA or NYC :ohhh:

What would you do?

I would convince him to do it as a hobby while going to college.

wanna be an actor? get a job, in school and apt in hollywood and do it on the side.

rapper/singer? go to college and do it for fun.

I would tell them to get their education and do it on the side.
The main priority is to get their post secondary education.

Puerta Medusa.
Once they graduate high school I no longer dictate their life. Pursuing dreams can be fulfilling, as long as they don't live with me.

This seems like the recipe for raising a bum. The chances of becoming a successful rapper/singer is low. They would end up moving out and then moving back in after a few years. They will be 25, living at home, and taking classes at the local CC. At least athletes in college can fall back on their degree if they don't go pro (even if the said degree is in hotel management). :ld:

if they're graduating highschool; than i'd let them do them. Of course they'd have to move out and support themselves. now if you're talking about sending my kid to holywood or to hang with diddy when they're like 10 i'm def passing

At 18 they can do what they want to do, but if I'm still supporting them they need to be doing what I want them to do. This is not to say I'd dictate their life but they'd have to strongly consider my opinion when making decisions.
