If you were in Tre's position, do you get out the car or go put in work?

Obviously most people here are grown and think differently now, but look bacc to your 17-18 year old self.

The way you were bacc then, if someone kills your bestfriend/brother and he was a completely innocent civilian not involved in any street shyt, would you have went and killed his killers?

SN: Was it explained why Tre got outta the car other than him just being soft? Was there a deeper message behind it?

Doughboy (and probably his homies too) died 2 weeks later. Tre made the right decision.

The message at the end with the killing Doe boy while Tre went to college is explanation enough. Doe had to retaliate, that was his brother. If it was my brother no question. I dont know if I was Tre. That was just his homey.

That being his brother had nothing to do with it....dough boy was in the life....tre and Ricky were not....you think Ricky would've went shooting nikkas in doughboy got shot?

How can you say Ricky being his brother had nothing to do with it?

There's a lot of cats who weren't in that life and became apart of it after a friend or family member was shot/killed.

Doughboy unfortunately had a less caring, more foreboding upbringing and was really about that life. He knew his lane and was willing to live with it.

He spoke on it later, for sure. Tre was about to get caught up in emotion like a lot of brothas do and do some shyt he would regret endlessly later, whether

he "payed' for it or not. Most people aren't about that, and despite his anger, he realized his father wasn't saying all that shyt for nothing. He had choices.

His best choice? Get his head on straight and get away from the nonsense in his community. His father had the same opportunity but he got his woman

pregnant, so he imparted wisdom that saved Tre from something he never would have been apart of had Ricky not went down the way he did.

I know those streets where the scene took place

And these nikkas was dumb from the jump to stand right in the ally..

U continue to jump yards or hide out in the yard for awhile..
I always watched the movie and wondered how for all being young, fit black dudes who were clearly aware of the nonsense, they didn't hop fences and make that shyt
a chore. shyt, you can see they easily could have been over a fence and posted ON SOMEONES HOUSE in a few seconds flat. Then again, when I was shot at, I didn't
know what to do so who am I.

They should've taken tre's car to the store instead of walking

But I never understood why ricky didn't hop the fence when he saw the car.

Above the fray.
Don't think people remember the details of the film.

Those killers tried to run down on Ricky AND Tre. Not like Tre was somewhere else and heard about Ricky getting shot and jumped into the picture. Same dudes who pulled the shotgun on him for fun earlier in the film. They could have easily killed him either time. Him jumping in the car to ride made sense as far as the storyline.

Nope, he wouldn't have. He didn't even try to help Doe when tried to get Ricky ball back. Ricky wasn't a rider for his brother but Doe was always his protector. You seen that when they were kids.
