Obviously most people here are grown and think differently now, but look bacc to your 17-18 year old self.

The way you were bacc then, if someone kills your bestfriend/brother and he was a completely innocent civilian not involved in any street shyt, would you have went and killed his killers?

SN: Was it explained why Tre got outta the car other than him just being soft? Was there a deeper message behind it?

I wouldn’t even have gotten in the car to begin with. I don’t have it in me to kill anyone or even watch anyone else get killed. Plus, there’s just about everything that could go wrong… they either shoot back, or you have to deal with the cops, or future retaliation.

As for why Tre got out of the car, it’s pretty obvious. He was never about that life in the first place, didn’t want to be a part of the cycle, and, most importantly, was remembering to everything his father had been telling him. That’s why the scene kept cutting back-and-forth between Tre and Furious up to the point where Tre left, and it’s what Doughboy says afterwards. He had no business being there in the first place.

The message at the end with the killing Doe boy while Tre went to college is explanation enough. Doe had to retaliate, that was his brother. If it was my brother no question. I dont know if I was Tre. That was just his homey.

Tre wasn't with the shyts and he shouldn't have been obligated to handle that type of business considering that's not what kind of life he lived. Once you cross that kind of line, there's no going back and that's why he did the right thing by exiting the vehicle
