then eventually there was a greater threat to both humans and mutants with them big robot things, Magneto fell for the okie doke and lost the bigger picture only to come to terms with it later

Where would you send your mutant baby?
To a D-1 school that's gonna properly teach him how to master his wonderful powers?...or to a genocidal cult leader who's only know base of operations is a meteor In space?

Plus we forgetting...not every member of the institute is X-man material.

Most students don't make the cut and just be in the background doing nothing, wearing the X is only for the best of the best
