If you put both of them in front of you could you tell the difference?

It’s like them getting us and Canadians mixed up.

More like getting Mexicans and Americans mixed up. Sri Lankans look very different from most Indians, it's only certain South Indians they look similar to.

Here's a crowd of average Sri Lankans:

Here's a stock photo of an Indian crowd:

Now of course it's "possible" to find Indians who look like Sri Lankans, just like you can find Canadians who look like Mexicans and vice-versa. But the average Sri Lanka wandering through most of India would stick out from appearance, language, and religion.

Punjab fakkits hold ya own nuts :umad:

Breh Punjab ain't even CLOSE to Sri Lankan, this is like hearing news about Mexico and mocking them "Quebec a$$holes". :deadrose:

They’re Indians. It’s like saying Sicilians aren’t Italian or Irish aren’t British.

:laff:

In what world are the Irish "British"? Next are you gonna tell me there's no different between a Cuban and a Jamaican?

People need to calm down in here, to a degree everyone is right:hubie:
They are literally "Sri Lankans" but the British drew them borders. Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka to some degree all have overlap
It's hundreds of languages and ethnic groups in India alone, a Davidian in the south might have way more in common with a Sri Lankan than with another Punjab "Indian" in the north :manny:

Sri Lanka is its own island, the British didn't "draw" that. They have always seen themselves as separate from India - from time to time certain south Indian rulers would invade and conquer them, but each time it was followed by rebellions and independence movements. They were separate from India long before the British or any other European got there. Among other things it's how they stayed majority Buddhist while Buddhism went basically extinct throughout India.

Thanks

I appreciate the info but two posters already answered with very similar information.

…maybe continue reading the thread next time.

If you want to gravitate towards anti-racism always try to distance yourself from thinking "but if THEY".
Always gravitate towards individualism rather than thinking a few that you know of, represents the whole you are completely ignorant of which likely represents the majority.

This is what I’m talking about though. Black people are at the bottom of the global system. Don’t tell us to be the bigger man without telling them first..

I don't agree with your premise but I wouldn't classify you as a fake militant or a militant either.
So the fake militancy argument wouldn't apply to you based on what I quoted you saying.
I don't agree with your logic but I wouldn't consider it knee-jerk militancy either.

You can’t call it that because they’d do the same to black people. All the people ran in here talking about “they’re not Indian! :damn:” will ignore the fact they wouldn’t stress calling a Nigerian Nigerian and an American black, an American black. They’d just call him black and keep it moving. But these dudes in here tripping over themselves to make sure we don’t call them Indian? As I said correct the guy with the facts but keep it moving after that. Don’t act like we owe to them to do that when that same courtesy WOULD NOT BE RETURNED to us

Great post. @TEH said that most of this was already explained earlier in the thread, but I didn't go that far back because I checked this thread in the morning and it was just a bunch of cry baby whining back and forth, so I appreciate this post late in the thread.
