If this is about The Rock, I think both Punk matches were good, and his promo back stage right before he came out for the Royal Rumble match with Punk was sick.

His promo before WM29 with Cena was really good. The "and at Wrestlemania 29, I will beat you.....again."

I was just thinking we haven't had enough threads dedicated to, or that have devolved into, Kliq vs. Rock.

Its actually not about the Rock. If it was about the Rock I would have said it in the title.

Now if the dweebs get hurt feelings and turn this peaceful thread that SHOULD be about friends discussing wrestling than thats your own fault, friend. :mjpls:

Lets be civil now, friends. I feel as if a specific fanbase might take this the wrong way and try to put paws on me. Its pretty simple and fair how I laid it out.

I'm just laying down the facts, don't toss water balloons at the messenger. :mjpls:

Drawing matters. It's always mattered. And typically the only people that take a hard line against it are fans of wrestlers who didn't draw.

It's not so much about the actual dollars...but about the fact that the dollars do validate a performer in an industry where the matches and outcomes are predetermined. The goal is to entertain the masses. That is literally THE job in pro wrestling. Drawing is a reflection that you're successfully doing that.

It's not the only factor and it shouldn't be your only point in any argument, but it does matter.

Of course it matters whether or not someone draws money in the sense that it can affect booking decisions, pushes, etc.

But ... the thing that makes someone like The Rock a GREAT draw is his ability to attract non-wrestling fans to the product, i.e. people who would normally never care enough about wrestling to post in a place like TSC. The vast majority of those people lose interest in wrestling again as soon as The Rock disappears.

That's why I find it odd when people in TSC celebrate the ability of a wrestler to draw non-fans to PPVs. The Rock is a talented dude and I've found him entertaining many times over the years, but here in TSC we have full-time, loyal, REAL fans. Why should any of us care when the non-fans take occasional interest? That ain't putting any money in our pockets, and it ain't making the product more entertaining. In fact, it increases the likelihood of the :trash: comedy/entertainment/non-wrestling segments filling up the show to cater to the non-wrestling fans. That ain't nothin' to celebrate.

My man, what do you think those cats are here for? Everyone else is just a gimmick:laugh:

WM 28>WM 26 and WM25:smugbiden: And since it's the Rock that makes everything tick again, let's never forget that MANY at this very site magically appear out of nowhere when he comes around on Raw. That itself proves the whole point of why the Rock is a unique talent in history. When you went a different route, pure wrestlers and their boring storylines and whatnot, that didn't work. People didn't buy it. People weren't watching and that's being nice. 2.5s...2.7s...laughable domestic buyrates. The reason why SO MUCH opportunity exists in 2013 is because he bailed this business out in 2011 more than anyone of the last 20 years. It was easy during competition because we all had choices but all you got is TNA and WWE and people hate on both for a variety of reasons and agendas but Rock came back and basically brought a endless amount of money to New Jersey this year by his very presence..basically fed the whole wrestling industry considering there was more shows and guys coming into that state than ever before and that all wouldn't be possible if the Rock had not brought attention to this prodcut and made it more mainstream after the Benoit murders and Cena era drove fans away.

The thing is when it comes to "great wrestling"..it's all subjective. There is no guaranteed ilk of saying what a great match is. Do the WWE not have that boring piece of shyt Iron Man match from WM 12 as the best WM main event of all time? Now if you've seen that match compared to matches we ALL KNOW are legendary and great, the likes that fans that STOPPED watching wrestling when TWO guys stopped being around full time(Rock and Austin), then that itself speaks on what's legitimately great and what's promoted as great.
