If you had to choose one of the "traditional 5 senses to keep, which one would it be?

There are way more than 5 senses. Somewhere between the number of 20-30 if I recall. Balance, temperature determination, and so on.

Sight, If you couldn't see, your would be almost totally dependent on someone else

it seems anyone with only 1 of the 5 senses is gonna be dependent on others. it's a pretty harsh hypothetical situation in any case

also many blind people do live pretty independent lives. this girl will probably need constant care:

but my choice would come down to taste and smell

and for me, the ability to smell adds a balance to my sight/hearing/touch

I'm not a food buff, so I could careless if I'm eating steak or a hamburger. As long as I'm getting my proper nutrients, I'm gucci.

Tie between hearing and seeing.

90% of my life is music but I could t imagine what it would be like to not see anything in the world.

For the most part I guess seeing.

Also, remember the question is not about keeping only one sense, it is asking for you to choose which one you would like to only be born with.

So, if you pick sight, you would never experience tasting, smelling, hearing, or touching. You wouldn't be able to learn braille, feel pain/pleasure, hear music...
