We had three sets in my crib including a animal Encyclopedia.

I remember reading through them as they were fascinating. Volcanoes on particular were interesting. I remember when windows used to bundle encarta encyclopedia

My buddy in the apt. upstairs had the old set of World Book Encyclopedia. So, if we couldn't make it to the library, we had to ask his mom if we could read them and do our research. The White Cover set.

For all of us old enough to remember having these in the house, I'm sure y'all also probably remember having to do formal papers by typewriter (using white out when you made an error on the paper)

Or having to use a word processor and the big, noisy printers which the perforated paper, too, before the desktop computers and LaserJet printers came out.

Either that or putting a sheet of lined paper under some blank white paper and writing out the whole report in pen and in cursive script...
