You would have failed to win titles with (at the moment) a better player. I kinda look at it like this from a long term perspective: If LeBron (with 2 players better than Wiggins) can't win you a ring, Wiggins wasn't going to either.

If Love leaves now (highly doubt he will), then it looks bad on Cleveland's part, but the trade in of itself shouldn't be judged either way by whether Wiggins becomes a star or not. It's a foregone conclusion for many that he will.

wiggins probably wouldn't become a star if he was in cleveland...well, at least not while he's on his rookie deal.

instead of having to be the distant 3rd option behind bron and kyrie, he's getting groomed to be 'the star' of the team. he's getting the burn, the shots, the responsibility...and he gets to do it on a squad that isn't expected to win, so the pressure's off him (for now, at least) and he can just keep developing his game. playing along side the best player in the world in games and in practice and all that would've been great for him too but nothing compares to actually being "the man" and shouldering that load and learning that way.

plus, obviously the cavs (aka lebron, as he's apparently the coach, gm, director of personnel, concession stand owner, hot dog vendor, etc. lol) were looking to win in the short term. their frontcourt was looking kind of weak, especially offensively, so instead of hoping wiggins could turn into something (and preparing him to be the heir to the throne) they moved him for an all-star big.

i mean, although i've been kind of on the fence about the trade, it always did make sense, for all parties involved. and like i said, i actually think it worked out better for andrew.

Would have occurred with Wiggins too.
Wiggins was already actualizing his mental fortitude and ferocity in his first summer league game.

He's not a PG. he has no feel for the position. He can't get the team into sets. Honestly Lorenzo Brown was better than him at point guard. He showed flashes at the 2 during the end of the season but he can't play point.

neither is russell westbrook. i think the wolves will play thru wiggins in the post like how the lakers played thru kobe or bulls did mike, so there is no need for a real PG.
